Residential Construction Planning & Scheduling Using Primavera P6

DOMAINProject Management, Construction Planning, Scheduling
TOOLS & TECHNIQUESOracle Primavera P6, Critical Path Method (CPM), Work Breakdown Structuring, Resource Leveling

Conducted for Project Planning and Management, this project formulated the full construction baseline schedule and resource distribution for a residential dwelling under a one-year deadline.

Key Engineering Scope

  • WBS & OBS Hierarchy: Structured a 4-level Work Breakdown Structure covering substructure, superstructure, masonry, MEP services, and finishing phases.
  • Activity Sequencing: Scheduled over 60 discrete activities with Finish-to-Start (FS) and Start-to-Start (SS) dependencies, deriving durations from labor productivity norms.
  • CPM Network Analysis: Identified critical path tasks, early/late milestone dates, and float tolerances in Oracle Primavera P6.
  • Resource Management: Modeled labor allocation histograms, leveled peak trades to eliminate over-allocation, and generated planned cumulative progress S-curves.
