Complete Building Quantity Takeoff & Material Cost Estimation

DOMAINQuantity Surveying, Cost Estimation, Construction Economics
TOOLS & TECHNIQUESMicrosoft Excel, AutoCAD Takeoffs, Bar Bending Schedules (BBS), Rate Analysis

This Quantity Surveying project prepared complete Bill of Quantities (BOQ) sheets and cost estimations for a multi-storey building directly from structural and architectural drawings.

Key Engineering Scope

  • Concrete Volume Takeoff: Computed net wet and dry volumes across foundations (F1–F10), columns, grade beams, shear walls, retaining walls, floor slabs, and staircases.
  • Masonry & Architectural Finishes: Quantified material requirements for brickwork, mortar, internal plastering, and cement finishes incorporating shrinkage and wastage allowances.
  • Steel Rebar Takeoff: Formulated comprehensive Bar Bending Schedules for bar sizes #3 through #8 across slabs, beams, and columns, detailing cut lengths and splices.
  • Cost Consolidation: Totaled steel requirements at approximately 111,854 kg (~112 metric tons), deriving final material cost estimates and tender summaries.
